You can’t stop the beat!

Cassidy Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for our encore production of Hairspray, opening December 4, 2026.

We are looking for talented, energetic performers to join our returning company and help bring the music, dancing, humor, and heart of this Broadway favorite back to the Cassidy stage.

 

CURRENT CASTING NEEDS

We are seeking performers ages 14 and older for a variety of featured and ensemble roles, including:

     • Teenage characters—or adults who can convincingly portray teenagers
     • Amber Von Tussle
     • One of the Dynamites
     • Additional roles representing the show’s richly diverse community and story

 

We encourage performers of all backgrounds, experience levels, and ethnicities to audition as we assemble a cast that can authentically tell this beloved story.

 

AUDITION DATE AND TIME

Thursday, August 20, 2026:  7:00–10:00 p.m.

 

Auditions will be conducted in one-hour groups. Performers should register for one of the following sessions through SignUpGenius:

     • 7:00–8:00 p.m.
     • 8:00–9:00 p.m.
     • 9:00–10:00 p.m.

WHAT TO PREPARE

Please prepare 32 bars—or approximately one minute—of a song in the style of the show.

An accompanist will be provided. Please bring clearly marked sheet music in the correct key. Performers may instead use an approved accompaniment track.

 

CALLBACKS

Callbacks will be held by invitation on Saturday, August 22, 2026:  11:00 a.m.
