This October Cassidy Theatre brings to life the The Wizard of Oz (RSC Version), a delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, recreating the dialogue and structure of classic MGM film and featuring its iconic musical score. We are looking to feature a multigenerational cast – Families, the Young, and the Young in Heart – to help us share this timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz.

Audition Dates & Times: July 27 - 29, 2026
Monday, July 27 – Group auditions for Munchkins ONLY; 7:00-7:45 or 8:00-8:45pm. (sign-up for only one 45-minute time slot) Age range for Munchkin only performers will include those entering 4th thru 9th grade. For those auditioning for Munchkins, no preparation is needed. All will learn a song and dance from the show at the audition. Please dress comfortably and wear shoes you can move in (No flip flops, crocs, sandals, etc.). Those who wish a speaking role will be asked to read from the script. Some Munchkin performers may be double cast as other roles (e.g. winged monkeys, Ozians, Winkies, etc.).

Tuesday and Wednesday, July 28-29; 7:00-10:00pm - Individual Auditions for ALL ROLES (sign-up for one 8-minute time slot). What to Prepare: A short musical selection (approx. 90 seconds or less) in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring printed sheet music, in your key, neatly prepared in a binder and clearly marked with any cuts. No tracks. Some ensemble performers may be double cast as other roles (e.g. munchkins, Ozians, Winkies, etc.).
Callbacks, if needed, will be held Thursday, July 30 starting at 7:00pm
If you cannot attend in person, the director will also be accepting video auditions.
Rehearsals will begin on or around August 10. The exact rehearsal schedule will be released after casting is complete, but actors can expect to rehearse Monday - Thursday evening. Not all actors will be needed for all rehearsals.
